Bats in my Belfry and Bugs on my Windscreen!

I do exaggerate a bit.

No bats at all, but it seems to me that the United Federation of Insects has proscribed that an insect who smashes into my windscreen goes straight to ... well, I dunno .. wherever a dead bug would wish to go.

I do believe that they are aiming for me, so there must be some great reward involved in achieving the ultimate sacrifice on my face!  It's quite annoying actually.

Mistress says that she just hopes they are all mosquitoes.

Hobnobbin with the Stars!

I say, would you look at this? I've met me first star! The AFLAC Duck!

Mistress said that she does not really think that is the AFLAC duck, and suspects it is just a celebrity look-alike, but I think he's the real deal.

At any rate, I'm counting this as my very first time to meet what the US calls a "superstar".

Look at me. Come to the USA and hobnob with stars. Blimey!

A Smashing Bash for Mini-Cooper

What a treat! Mistress and our mate, Bill, decided to take yours truly to a special event. It was held in Greensboro and introduced the new Mini convertable. As you see those two nice Bobbies were taking good care of the showcars. Meself, was parked right behind their car and had a pleasant evening chatting about life with an actual police "vee-hickle" ( I do hope I've pronounced that correctly. It took me a bit of time to correct my accent).

Look at this odd fellow, would you? He's taken his bike and is doing flips and hops and all sorts of gyrations over top of a Mini Cabriolet! Looks a bit of a giggle, but dratted dangerous. I'm willing to bet that a Mini could do that though. I understand that these fellows were a BMX team who compete in extreme sports all over the US of A.

There were two quite good bands supplying the music. Bill takes guitar lessons from the fellow on the far right, and this band, Second Look, was our favorite.

It was very windy at the event, and that caused some problems for the BMX bike riders, and some of the tents nearly took flight, but I thought it felt jolly good. This turned out to be quite a fun evening. I'm hoping there will be an event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of MINI! And, of course, my First!

Always Glad To Be Of Service.

As you can see, I've made my pal Steed very happy.

And all it took was a trip one of his favorite stores, PetsMart, of course. His other favorite? PetCo ... where the pets go!

He takes great delight in wandering the aisles and sniffing up all the fascinating scents and secret messages left by other shoppers.

So glad I could be of service.

On My Way To Stardom!

I blush to admit that I think Hollywood suits me. If I were less modest, I would say that I can see my name in headlights.
"MOTOR MADNESS" starring JEEVES. Can't you just see it?

Well, it must remain but a dream for the time being as I have a confession to make ... I'm not actually in Hollywood. I'm really on the backlot of the North Carolina School of Filmmaking in Winston-Salem.
Mistress could not resist taking a run to the backlot for a few shots.
Here I am parked in front of the SusieQ Grill ... the prices are bang spot on, and it should be doing a big business. Whole dinners for 15 cents? The Mistress tried to get in for a nosh, but had no luck.
Here you get a better shot of the 'street'. We've just passed SusieQ's and you'll see the cinema down at the end of the way. All these wonderful sites are available for the students to use in their films. And after these mini-directors have completed their project, it can actually be screened in the theatre!

What a treat this was. Mistress said it was amazing that being on a student backlot in NC made her almost as happy as being on a real backlot in LA. Not quite, but almost.
Speaking for myself, if I might make so bold, I loved every minute.

I wonder if I have "star quality"?

There, see? I'm all red ... I've made meself blush again.

Ciao for now. More adventures soon.
